Belts and braces: Tests for a java web application
Automated tests are part of the XP platform regardless of their granularity or their scope: unit tests, acceptance tests, functional tests, load tests, etc. All these types of tests interact to steer and direct application development, and to provide a safety net when reworking and upgrading code.
Although it has become quite common to use automated unit tests for business code, this is just part of the story.
The goal of this session is to show:
- How to implement automated tests for all the components and interfaces of a complex Web application in Java: functional tests on the user interface, tests on Javascript and HTML client components, tests on \"business\" components and OSGi frameworks, load tests, tests integrated in runtime, etc.
- How to integrate all these tests in the \"build\" system(e.g.: maven).
