USI 2009 Session
Identity Authorization Management & Master Data Management
Identity management has a very clear outline in terms of the services or functions to be used in the IS: creating the identity (entitlement workflow, provisioning) and using the identity (authentication, SSO, authorisations, audit, reporting).
However, projects run up against two major construction issues: "Where do we start and what (quality) data do we use?" and major concerns about change management during deployment: "Big bang or not big bang?".
This session will discuss the reference data both used and provided by IAM projects and will study how best practices from Master Data Management will help us improve their homogeneity.
We will see what questions must be answered concerning the use of this data and how related management processes can be implemented. We will identify together the immediate gains ("Quick wins") which will help increase the visibility of these types of identity management projects outside the project sphere and control the security investment costs.
