The challenges of long-term software quality in open source
Coming up with quality software is hard. Evolving software in a quality fashion is even harder. Keeping up software quality over the course of major generations, while at the same time maintaining backwards compatibility – that’s the ultimate challenge.
As a reference, this talk discusses the evolution of the Spring Framework from 2002 to 2010, presenting challenges as well as lessons learned over the years.
